Climbing from Fujiyoshida (2/21)

  1. Turn left when you reach the 2 lane route. This is route 139. Walk until you see a large shrine to the right. This is the Fujiyoshida Sengenjinja. Walk up several steps to the shrine.

  2. There is a English explanation of the shrine to the right.
  3. There is also a Japanese explanation board next to it.
  4. The small building is the toilet. This is the last water flush toilet on this route. There isn't any toilet until the Nakanocha, which is several kilometers away.

  5. Pass through the last torii. To the left, there is a dragon sprouting out water. In the past, it was possible to fill water bottles here, but after bottled water began to be sold, there were too many people coming here to get water that the shrine decided to forbid it. Nevertheless, take a sip of water because this is the last place to where natural water is available.
  6. There was a judo exhibition match today.
  7. Mount Fuji climbing route is to the right of the main shrine.
  8. Go up the stairs and you'll come to a paved road. Turn left here.
