- The the 8:10 bus to Jyuriki from the JR Gotemba station. There aren't too many buses going to Suyama so try to make it on time.
The bus stop is to the left on the end of the center bus stop. Be sure to check with the driver to make sure it is going to Suyama Sengenjinja and to tell the driver that you want to get off at the Segenjinja bus stop. The bus ride is about 20 minutes.
The Jyuriki bus is a local bus and not a mountain bus like those going to New Gotemba Fifth station and New Subashiri Fifth station. As such, you can pay the bus fare when you are getting off the bus instead of buying a ticket at the ticket counter by the bus stops.

- From the Sengenjinja bus stop, cross the road. There should be a "Sugiyama electric shop" to the left. Take the street going straight by it's side.(8:30)
- You'll soon come to a T intersection. There is a Japanese sign there. Sengenjinja is to the right, but the climbing route to Mount Fuji is to the left. If you're not thinking about coming back down here, you might want to visit the shrine before going on with the climb.
- You'll come to the intersection again. Go straight.
- There will be a large street crossing. This is actually a street the bus we just rode will be taking to go up to Jyuruki. The route continue on the other side of the street. Go straight.
- The road branches off again. Take the right road.
- The road curves and it branches again. Go right. You'll soon come back to intersect the large street which we passed a few minutes ago.
- Cross back across the street and go straight.
- You'll be walking out of the town around here.
On a clear day, you'll be able to see Mount Fuji while walking.
Continue walking straight.
Near the wooded area, the actual route turns left and up the un-well kept unpaved path, but it's easier to just go straight on the paved road.
- You'll come to a paved road. There won't be any sign here because this isn't the proper climbing route. Go left and walk on the paved road for a while. You'll see a climbing route sign on the other side of the street.
