Climbing from Gotemba i2/13j

  1. This is a mid-starting point of Fuji Ekiden - Umakaesi Ue (Above Horse Return).
    It's 1,040m above sea.
  2. There is a area for picnic around here except there is no toilet and water.
  3. We've finally walked 5.1Km from a little bit part Shonen no Ie. This is Tarobo.
  4. Take the right road new the blue traffic sign to get to the Gotemba New Fifth station.
    Fuji New Fifth Station on the blue sign leads to the Fujimiya New Fifth Station.
  5. After taking a turn, there is a stone pillar to the left side of the road. This is to remember the BOAC (British Overseas Airways Corporation) Boing 707 airplane that crashed near this site on March 5, 1966 kill all 124 people on board.
  6. A little further down, there is a memorial for the crash.
  7. After a few minutes walk, the road becomes steeper and the road branches into two. We have finally reached the Gotemba New Fifth station parking lot. (10:00)
  8. To go to a toilet, take the left road. The toilet is to the right.
  9. There is always a water flushing down the toilet and it's pretty clean. KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED so no bugs can enter the toilet.
  10. Move back to the road and climb up to the parking area. The Gotemba Mount Fuji route is to the right. There is also a route to Futago-yama (Twin Peaks) to the left of the parking lot.
